Helping 50,000 people in a single day is big. But with the help of hundreds of churches around the country, that's exactly what's going to happen on April 30, 2020.
Every week, tens of thousands of citizens are released from prisons around the country with little to no support network, which means two-thirds of them will reoffend and go back into the system. Two of the biggest factors in helping people avoid reoffending and ending up back in jail are a job and a community.
Through our community job fairs, Better Together has served over 17,000 people with 1 in 4 attendees being hired on the spot. We have a training system that we take churches through to help them execute these job fairs with amazing results. We are taking that experience to focus heavily in 2020 on empowering our neighbors returning home after incarceration
To be a apart of the Second Chance Job Fair Day, the cost is free, there will be no membership fees and no financial obligations. To have access to the live simulcast training for you and your staff, please RSVP HERE! - Scroll to the bottom of the page and submit your request to 'Get Involved.'
The Second Chance audience are those who would be coming back to the work force from incarceration and those who are completing addiction recovery programs exclusively. The events are intentionally smaller and target towards employers who offer opportunities to those re-entering the work force. The Christian Education League is excited to be a part of this National effort on April 30th.
The Christian Education League will be in the halls of the Capital Tuesday, January 28th and at least once per week with pastors from across the state during session. Our goal is simple, we want to meet with legislators and thank them for their service and sacrifice for the people of Maine. Lord willing, we will then offer to pray for them, their families, and their upcoming demands, etc...
